Our Commitment
Fishing With Purpose
Game fish like sailfish, marlin, and other pelagic species are vital to the health of our fisheries. That’s why many of our trips prioritize the thrill of the catch—followed by a safe, healthy release—so future generations can enjoy the same experience.
Following the Rules That Protect Our Waters
Reel Therapy strictly adheres to all fishing regulations and laws in both Florida and the Bahamas. These guidelines exist to protect fish populations, preserve habitats, and ensure sustainable fishing for years to come.
Why It Matters
Clean water and healthy fisheries don’t happen by accident—they require awareness, respect, and action. Every responsible decision on the water helps protect the incredible environments we’re lucky enough to fish in. Fish hard. Fish smart. Leave it better than you found it. That’s the Reel Therapy way.

Captain Mike’s story is one shaped by a lifelong connection to the water. Growing up in Massachusetts, he spent his early years fishing local ponds—what began as a simple pastime quickly became a passion. As he got older, family trips to Cape Cod introduced him to saltwater fishing, where he developed a love for chasing striped bass along Race Point Beach. Those experiences deepened his appreciation for the ocean and sparked a desire to learn more.
In his young adult years, Mike eagerly joined friends on their boats whenever he could, soaking up knowledge about navigation, changing conditions, and the realities of being safe on open water. Seamanship came naturally to him, and he built a strong foundation through hands-on experience.
After relocating to Florida, Mike took his passion to the next level by purchasing his own boat. He often brought his young children along, creating lasting memories while fishing out of Port Canaveral. Regular runs to the 20-mile buoy at the edge of the Gulf Stream became a staple—where the waters are rich and the game fish are plentiful.
In 2003, Mike earned his United States Coast Guard captain’s license, formalizing what had already become a way of life. He developed a specialization in Bridge Resource Management, focusing on sound decision-making and safety through real-world case studies. Known for his sharp risk analysis and calm leadership, Captain Mike has earned the respect of those who fish with him—not only for his ability to find the hot spots, but for ensuring every trip is both successful and safe.
